The Safest Cities in India for Women: Survey

The She Shakti Suraksha Survey 2025, carried out by CNN-News18 in association with Pvalue, found Ahmedabad, Indore and Mumbai to be the safest cities for women in India. The survey was published on the eve of International Women’s Day and gauged perceptions of women’s safety across 20 Indian cities.

The survey shows that 82% of urban women feel their cities are safe, while 6% find them unsafe and 12% remain neutral. Perception varied significantly by city, time of day and mode of transport.

For brands and advertisers, surveys like this matter beyond the headline: they shape where families relocate, where companies open offices, and how city administrations communicate. Safety perception is part of a city’s brand — and like any brand, it is built by consistent, visible action rather than slogans.
